Dan
Lawrence
Owner, Chief Executive Officer
Without further ado let me introduce myself, my name is Dan Lawrence. Some of you may know me for my airbrush and custom paint work in the music industry, (my Bio page); others may be reading about me for the first time. My enthusiasm for guitars extends far beyond paint and graphics, so when the opportunity came about to obtain the distinguished GMP® guitar name, I couldn’t resist.
Painting and building guitars has been something I have always enjoyed. So I guess I can consider myself a fortunate man, as my passion is my work. Having the opportunity to create a Genuine Musical Product from a fine wood billet, all the way through to a finished instrument has been my aspiration.
At this point, many of you might be wondering "What about the original
GMP® crew?"
|
|
Well, it just so happens that one of the original GMP® master builders, Glenn Matejzel has been working right along side of me at DRL Graphics since GMP® (GM Precision Products) closed their doors in 2005.
My history, as well as Glenn’s, extends over twenty five years in the guitar industry. We both started in the early eighties at the original Charvel/Jackson guitar facility in San Dimas, California. Then in the mid to late eighties, we were both employees at BC Rich guitar plant in El Monte, California.
In the early nineties, I had decided to start up my own graphics business and offer my artistic and paint services to various guitar manufacturers & builders. Glenn continued in the guitar building industry where he was employed at GM Precision Products and for fourteen years helped build and create the original GMP® guitar brand. Like me, he is very excited to create and continue building the 'new' GMP® guitars.
Although under new ownership, you can expect to receive the same great custom quality from GMP® guitars!
I continue to be in frequent touch with many of the original builders to ensure that everything is where it needs to be. The guitars will still have that same exquisite feel, sound and rock solid playability that the GMP® name is known for, and more!
It is my intention to provide you with the highest quality instrument possible,
a real Genuine Musical Product! |
